The Walking Dead..The Series?

Everyone loves a good zombie story and one of the best has been Robert Kirkman’s fantastic comic series The Walking Dead.  The comic follows a group of survivors after a zombie outbreak of unknown origin wipes out pretty much everyone else.  The group has to deal with constant zombie attacks and other dangers.

Yesterday, news came out that AMC won a bidding war to produce a television series based on the comic and Frank Darabont is said to write/produce and direct it.  I think this is exciting not only because Frank Darabont is a fantastic director who did The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption and the incredibly creepy The Mist, but also because, despite the fact they air crap like Catwoman as “classics”, AMC airs two of the most critically and viewer praised shows on TV in Mad Men and Breaking Bad.  This has a ton of potential.
