As part of it’s “Hulu Days of Summer”, the video site brings us the best Star Trek: TNG movie with First Contact. Sticking to the rule of “the even ones are good”, the eighth Star Trek movie finds Captain Jean Luc Picard and his crew battling against the ruthless Borg. When a Borg cube ship attacks Earth, the Enterprise arrives just in time to help blow it up, thanks to Picard’s knowledge of the Borg when he was assimilated by them. A small fragment launches from the cube and vanishes into a vortex. The population of Earth immediately turns into Borg and the Enterprise crew realizes the Borg time traveled to conquer Earth at an earlier date. Pursuing, the Enterprise arrives just before humanity is to make it’s first warp drive space flight, which caused a Vulcan science vessel to land on Earth and make first contact. Now the crew of the Enterprise must help this historic event happen while dealing with a Borg invasion on the ship. Check out the whole movie below.

For awhile,I believed i was concerned Star Trek was a passing away franchise. Then JJ Abrams came along. Good touch. The scene with kid Kirk was a touch too quirky in the film, however it was popular in the trailer. Star Trek XI breathed new life into this much loved Roddenberry universe. I’d like to see all of this Enterprise cast returning for further outings. I spent my youth with the first series. Heck, my father got us a color Television just so we could look at Star Trek just about every Friday night. These days, I’m stuck on these new characters. In MHO, they have absolutely breathed life into their characters and made them their very own. I, for one, am looking towards more.
