/Film had some news yesterday about one of Tim Burton’s upcoming projects, Monsterpocalypse. Based on a table top board game that had players battling collectible miniatures of monsters, the movie will feature the Earth getting attacked by a slew of non-copyright infringing giant monsters before they retreat due to a human counterattack. The monsters burrow underground and start sending a signal into outer space and, fearing reinforcements, humanity builds and army of giant robots and a giant battle ensues between the robots and monsters. This sounds super awesome and I’m hoping Tim Burton can get himself out of the rut he’s currently in and maybe give it a old school Godzilla vibe, maybe a sort of homage to Destroy All Monsters! The movie is currently on track to be released in 2012.
