The Ward Trailer

Two of horror’s greatest directors are coming back in 2011.  Wes Craven is bringing back the Scream franchise with Scream 4 and now we have the trailer for John Carpenter’s return to theaters with The Ward.  Starring Amber Heard, it follows a group of girls in a mental institution who start seeing an evil phantom of a former patient and have to figure out a way to stop it from killing them all while convincing the staff that they aren’t just insane and seeing things.  It seems like a slasher film version of  Shutter Island with a dash of Sucker Punch.  Hopefully Carpenter is back to form because the last feature he directed was Ghosts of Mars and we all know how that turned out. (Although more recently he directed the hilariously ridiculous Masters of Horror episode Pro-Life)  Check out the trailer below and the movie is out this month.
