Piranha 3D was an absolutely ridiculous movie the was completely aware of how insane and stupid it was and fully embraced it. It had one of the most insanely gory set pieces I’ve seen in a long time with a massacre at a floating a concert and a completely game cast that included a super sleazy Jerry O’Connell, Adam Scott, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Elisabeth Shue and Ving Rhames. Lloyd, Scheer and Rhames are all returning for this year’s sequel, Piranha 3DD, despite the fact that two of them were kind of dead. Picking up from where the first one left off, the swarm of hungry, prehistoric piranha make their way into the water supply of Big Wet Waterpark and go on a rampage. Gary Busey and David Hasselhoff are on hand to up the crazy factor along with David Koechner as the owner of the waterpark and Tucker and Dale VS Evil’s Katrina Bowden as the plucky heroine. The aforementioned concert massacre set a massively high bar for crazy but Ving Rhames with artificial shotgun legs is a good start. The movie is going to be out sometime later this year and you can check out the trailer below.
