They’re only doing the writing but Gambit definitely seems like the kind of ridiculous con/heist movie that the Coen Brothers are known for. Colin Firth stars as an art curator who is fed up with his abusive boss (Alan Rickman) and comes up with a scam to pass off the art of a crazy Texas cowgirl (Cameron Diaz) as a lost masterpiece but things go south when PJ decides she can possibly get more money by seducing the boss instead. It looks very old school, screwball comedy and everyone involved is usually great, so it will probably be worth checking out when it comes out here in the States. It’s coming out in November in the UK and you can check out the trailer below.
