Fox has been exploring the prehistoric world for four movies with the Ice Age series and now Dreamworks is taking a stab at it by releasing The Croods next year. Nicolas Cage stars as the patriarch of a family of cavemen, who keeps his family sheltered in their cave home until an earthquake forces them to leave and they discover how the big the world actually is. Emma Stone and Clark Gregg co-star as the kids, Catherine Keener is the mom and Cloris Leachman is the grandma. The animation looks fantastic but the thing that is throwing me off is that, even though these are cavemen, the actors voicing them all sound normal. I don’t know if we could stand a movie where they just talked in grunts or the whole movie consisted of “Me am scared” and variations on that either. The movie is out in March next year, of course in 3D, and you can check out the trailer below.
