2013 Oscar Nominations

the-oscars-and-social-media-by-the-numbers-630dfbfb1c

The Oscar nominations were announced early this morning and the movies everyone expected to be the frontrunners dominated the nominations.  Lincoln, Life of Pi, The Master, Zero Dark Thirty, Les Miserables and Zero Dark Thirty all got a number of nominations, with Lincoln leading with 12.  I was hoping The Grey would at least get some nomination to acknowledge how great it was and speaking of The Grey, I’m also extremely disappointed that Liam Neeson didn’t get a Best Actor nod and instead, Denzel Washington seemed to take that slot for Flight, a movie that got a resounding “meh” at the box office.  Best Animated Feature also seems to be pretty competitive this year as it’s back up to 5 nominees and there are actual nominees for Best Original Song this year as well.  Check out all the nominees below.
