Musical Montage: 2pac “California Love”

2pac’s most popular and successful song, California Love, is one of the best songs of the 90’s and one of the best rap songs period but the real reason we’re highlighting it for Musical Montage is the music video.  One of two videos shot for the song, this one finds 2pac filling in for Mad Max in an homage to Beyond Thunderdome, and it was actually shot on the same sets as Beyond Thunderdome.  There’s a cameo from Chris Tucker as the evil tribal chief’s aide and Tony Cox, from Bad Santa and the movie Movies (Date, Epic, Superhero, is the dwarf soldier and it’s set in a post apocalyptic Oakland in the year 2095.  If you’ve never seen it, stop what you are doing and check it out below.
