October Movie Preview

ESCAPE-PLAN

October 4th:

  • Gravity: Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are astronauts who become stranded in space when a massive malfunction causes the space station they are working on to explode.  It’s the latest from Children of Men director, Alfonso Cuaron.
  • Runner Runner: Justin Timberlake enters the shady world of online poker and gets drawn into luxurious style of one of the site’s kingpins, played by Ben Affleck.
  • Metallica: Through the Never: As Metallica plays an epic concert, their roadie (played by Dane Dehaan) sets out into the city and has to survive an apocalyptic riot that is occuring.

October 11th:

  • Captain Phillips: Tom Hanks stars in this dramatic retelling of the hijacking of the America freighter the Maersk Alabama and the rescue put into action by the Navy.
  • Machete Kills: Mexico’s greatest secret agent is called back into action by President Charlie Sheen when a mad man with threatens Washington with a highly advanced and dangerous missile.

October 18th

  • Carrie: Chloe Grace Moretz steps into psychic shoes of Sissy Spacek in this remake of the 70’s classic as teenager Carrie is bullied at school and abused by her mother but discovers latent powers that will make everyone who bullied her sorry.
  • Escape Plan: Arnold and Sly team up to escape from a super advanced prison run by Jim Caviziel in this old school action movie.
  • The Fifth Estate: Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Wikileaks founder Julian Asange in this dramatic telling of how he came to reveal the classified and private data of some of the world’s most powerful people.

October 25th

  • The Counselor: Michael Fassbender stars as a lawyer who gets in over his head when he gets involved with a ruthless drug dealer.  It’s the latest from Ridley Scott and it was the first screenplay by Cormac McCarthy.
  • Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa: Johnny Knoxville takes on the persona of his elderly alter ego and takes his “grandson” on a trip across the country, insulting and offending everyone along the way.
