Gravity remained in the number one spot for the third weekend in a row, and made more than all three of the new releases combined.  The movie made another $31 million, putting it over $170 million for it’s total run so far.  Captain Phillips remained in second with another $17.3 million.  Carrie did the best of the new releases but was a disappointing opening, especially considering it’s the only actual horror movie opening this month with Paranormal Activity 5 pushed back.  It made less than the Evil Dead remake, whose predecessor is much more niche than the original Carrie.  Fourth went to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 was in fourth with $10.1 million.  Escape Plan rounded out the top five with $9.8 million, better than the solo efforts earlier this year from Stallone and Schwarzengger, but not by much.  There was a bunch of shuffling  near the bottom of the list.  Enough Said, the indie romantic comedy with Julia Louis Dreyfuss and the late James Gandolfini, moved up to seventh while Runner Runner dropped to ninth and Insidious 2 took tenth.  Machete Kills is kind of confirmed to be a disaster, falling from fourth to 12th in it’s second week, despite a special “buy 1 get 1 free” deal this past Saturday.  Speaking of disasters, The Fifth Estate had one of the worst opening of the year, and possibly ever, making only $1.7 million, worse than ridiculous bombs like Paranoid.
