It seems like enough time has passed for Tarzan to return to the big screen, as there’s a live action reboot in the works with Alexander Skarsgard starring in the title role and this animated movie starring Kellan Lutz, in his second iconic character role along with Hercules. Updating the story to modern times, Tarzan is orphaned after a helicopter crash kills his parents and he’s raised by gorillas in the jungle. Years later, he meets Jane Porter and together they must try and stop the evil Greystoke corporation from destroying the jungle in their attempt to claim a revolutionary energy source in a mountain. The animation definitely isn’t Pixar or Dreamworks level, but more like TMNT or Astro Boy, but I’m not sure if it’s the same animation studio. The dialogue and performances also seem kind of awful as well. It doesn’t have a firm US release yet but it will most likely be sometime next year and you can check out the trailer below.
