  • Lex Luthor/Alfred cast for Batman vs Superman: Jesse Eisenberg will take on the role of the megalomaniac CEO of LexCorp while Jeremy Irons will offer sage advice to Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne as Alfred.
  • Liam Neeson joins Martin Scorsese’s “Silence”Coming down from the cocaine and Quaalude high of The Wolf of Wall Street, Martin Scorsese’s next film is Silence, an account of the hardships Christian missonaries suffered trying to spread their religion in 17th century Japan.   Liam Neeson will be in a key role but there’s no details as of yet.
  • Neil Marshall directing pilot of Constantine: The director of The Descent, Doomsday and Centurion, along with the incredible “Blackwater” episode of Game of Thrones, will direct the pilot for NBC’s upcoming DC show, Constantine.  Marshall also directed the first and third episodes of the new Starz pirate drama, Black Sails.
  • Back to the Future musical coming to London in 2015Back to the Future is the latest moving getting adapated for the stage as a version on London’s West End will hit in 2015 with Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale helping to write and adapt the movie.  No word on if Huey Lewis will be consulted for the music.
  • Ian Ziering and Tara Reid officially back for Sharknado 2: The Second One: Filming starts next month for the sequel to the Internet phenomenon that was Sharknado.  Stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid are back for the sequel, which will find a new Sharknado striking New York City.
  • Lego releasing official Ecto-1 setThis year is the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters and Lego is celebrating with an Ecto-1 set, that originally came through Lego’s fan vote Cuusoo site.  No price or release date is available yet.
  • X-Men producer wants to make a Gambit solo movie with Channing TatumProducer Lauren Shuler Donner is “dying” to do a Gambit solo movie with Channing Tatum adopting a Cajun accent to play the kinetic energy powered mutant.  Tatum expressed interest in the role during the press junket for White House Down last year.  The one and only time so far that Gambit has appeared on film is when Taylor Kitsch played him in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
  • Oscar song nominee stripped of nomination: Alone Yet Not Alone,  from the movie of the same name, has been stripped of it’s nomination due to the shady dealings done by the movie’s composer, Bruce Broughton, who got a favor from friends in the Academy to get the song nominated, even though the film does not come out until later this year.  This leaves Let It Go, Ordinary Love, Happy and The Moon Song as the nominess for Best Original Song.
  • Rick and Morty a massive hit: While Community still struggles for ratings, Dan Harmon’s new animated Adult Swim show, Rick and Morty, is a huge hit.  It has beat Archer in the Males under 35 demographic, which is the key advertising demographic and one of the biggest hits in recent memory for Adult Swim.
  • Forest Whitaker in talks for Taken 3Liam Neeson may be getting some back up in the third Taken film as Forest Whitaker is apparently in talks to co-star.  Taken 2 director Olivier Megaton is unfortunately back to direct but hopefully they realize it should be an R rated film and not try shaky cameras and cutaways to get a PG-13.
  • Louis CK’s first film available on his website right now:  Hit the link for this entry to head over to Louis CK’s website, where you can get his first film, Tomorrow Night, for $5.  It stars Amy Poehler, Steve Carrell and a bunch of other comedians well before they hit it big.
  • Choose Your Own Adventure gets writers and director: Robert Ben Garant and Tom Lennon, of The State and Reno 911, will be writing the script for the adaptation of the classic 80’s gamebook series.  Rawson Marshall Thurber, director of We’re the Millers and Dodgeball, will direct,  which seems to imply that this will be a comedy, although the real question is how they will implement the key component of choices into the movie.
  • Riddick sequel most likely coming soon: Before dancing and lip synching to Katy Perry and Beyonce on his Facebook page, Vin Diesel announced that DVD/Blu Ray sales are great for Riddick and Universal wants to move ahead with a fourth movie in the series.  A second XXX with Diesel is apparently moving forward as well.
  • Benedict Cumberbatch signs on for thriller, Blood MountainCumberbatch is set to star in the thriller, directed by Sergei Bodrov of Mongol, which follows a PMC team in the Middle East who are transporting a high value target when they are ambushed, leaving one member and the target forced to make their way through hostile territory, with other mercenary teams and the targets men hunting them.
  • Captain America 3 coming: Before The Winter Soldier is even out, Marvel confirmed a third Cap movie is coming with Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo returning to direct.
  • Justin Lin signs on for Toymageddon: After leaving the Fast & Furious franchise, one of Justin Lin’s new projects is the family adventure Toymageddon, pitched as a Ghostbusters/Jurassic Park style adventure in a toy factory run amok.
  • Jonathan Banks joins Better Call SaulThe Breaking Bad spin-off gets another fan favorite character as Jonathan Banks will return as Mike Ehrmantraut on Better Call Saul.  Banks is currently killing it as Professor Buzz Hickey on Community.
  • Guy Ritchie may sign on for six film King Arthur seriesCurrently working on The Man from UNCLE, Guy Ritchie may sign on with Warner Bros for a six film King Arthur series.  The new movies would be an action/fantasy take on the story, most likely along the lines of Lord of the Rings.
  • Sabotage moves up to end of March: The latest film from our patron saint, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is Sabotage, originally set for mid April has been bumped up to the end of March, March 28th to be exact.  The movie follows a DEA team who stumble across millions on a bust and they start getting killed off after the money disappears.
  • New official Alien novel coming soon: There’s a new game coming soon and now there’s also an official new novel set in the universe, out right now from Titan Books.  It’s called Alien: Out of the Shadows and the book takes place between Alien and Aliens and follows a group of miners on LV178 as they discover a nest of Xenomorphs and the escape pod carrying the only survivor of the Nostromo, Ellen Ripley.
  • The Flash casts two villains: Hopefully following in the awesome steps of Arrow, CW’s Flash show cast two of it’s villains with Reverse Flash aka Ethan Thawne being played by Rick Cosnett and Killer Frost being played by Danielle Panabaker.
  • Rupert Sanders signs on for Ghost in the Shell: The director of Snow White and the Huntsman will direct the live action adaptation of the incredibly popular anime for Dreamworks.  There’s no release date yet but it’s been in development for years.
