Fall TV 2014: Fox

Posted on May 12, 2014 by

Fox had a couple of big hits last year with Emmy Award winning, and hilarious, comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine and surprisingly fun but insane Sleepy Hollow.  The Following also continues, inexplicably, to bring in a decent audience and the Sunday comedy block keeps chugging along, although they’ve classed it up recently with the stunning and greatly educational Cosmos reboot.  As far as new shows, their entry into the comic book battle is the Batman prequel, Gotham and they have some other interesting looking new shows as well.  Check out the trailers, descriptions and fall schedule below.

Wayward Pines

Starring: Matt Dillon, Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, Julliette Lewis, Carla Gugino

Premise: Based on a best-selling novel and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan (“The Sixth Sense”), WAYWARD PINES is an intense, mind-bending 10-episode thriller starring Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon (“Crash”) as a Secret Service agent on a mission to find two missing federal agents in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines.

Starring: Rainn Wilson, Genevieve Angelson, Kristoffer Polaha, Dennis Haysbert, Page Kennedy, Beatrice Rosen, Thomas Dekker

Premise: Offensive, irascible Detective Everett Backstrom tries, and fails, to change his self-destructive behavior while leading his team, the Serious Crimes Unit, as they navigate Portland’s most sensitive cases.

(Reality Show)

Premise: Based on the Dutch hit of the same name, UTOPIA is a bold new series that moves 15 everyday Americans to an isolated, undeveloped location — for an entire year — and challenges them to create their own civilization. Will it be ultimate happiness or utter chaos?

Starring: John Mulaney, Martin Short, Elliott Gould, Nasim Pedrad, Seaton Smith, Zack Pearlman

Premise: Follows an aspiring comedian coming of age in NYC under the influence of his over-the-top boss – who was a major stand-up comedian in the 1980s and ’90s and now hosts a game show — his roommates and his neighbors.

Starring: Reece Ritchie, Kelsey Chow, Condola Rashad, John Rhys-Davies, Caroline Ford, Antony Bunsee, Max Brown

Premise: A notorious thief is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah, navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers.

Starring: Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollet, Bryshere Y. Gray, Timothy “Timbaland” Mosley, Malik Yoba, Gabourey Sidibe, Trai Byers, Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday

Premise: A unique family drama set in the world of a hip-hop empire.

Starring: David Tennant, Anna Gunn, Josh Hamilton, Jack Irvine, Michael Pena, Nick Nolte, Virginia Kull, Nikolas Filipovic

Premise: Based on the BBC crime drama Broadchurch, the ten-episode mystery event series GRACEPOINT follows the tragic death of a young boy, and the major police investigation and nationwide media frenzy that subsequently overtake a picturesque seaside town, where anyone is a suspect.

The Last Man on Earth
