Life of Crime Trailer

life-of-crime-movie

The late, great Elmore Leonard’s work has been turned into movies like Get Shorty, 3:10 to Yuma and Out of Sight and TV shows like Justified but the latest movie adapted from his works is Life of Crime, based on his short story, The Switch.  Tim Robbins stars as a womanizing, wealthy businessman who wants to divorce his wife (Jennifer Aniston)  and marry his promiscuous younger girlfriend (Isla Fisher) but two kidnappers (John Hawkes/Mos Def) arrive and make things even more complicated.  It looks like it will have the usual Elmore Leonard twists and double crosses and the interesting thing is that it, technically, is a prequel to Jackie Browne (based on Leonard’s Rum Punch), as Mos Def and John Hawkes are playing the younger versions of Samuel L Jackson and Robert De Niro’s characters.  Will Forte and Mark Boone Junior co-star and the movie is out at the end of August.  You can check out the trailer below.
