2014 Emmy Nominations

The 2014 Emmy nominations were announced today and there were a few surprises along with the usual slew of snubs.  The big story is that the heavyweight title fight between Fargo and True Detective is not going to happen, as Fargo was nominated under Miniseries while True Detective was nominated in the actual Drama series category.  Both Woody Harrelson and Matthew McCoughney were nominated as Lead Actor in a Drama while Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton were nominated in the Lead Actor in Miniseries category.  Orange is the New Black and House of Cards both brought in a bunch of nominations for Netflix.  Hannibal was completely snubbed along with Nick Offerman, yet again.  One pleasant surprise was Kristen Wiig getting nominated for her tour de force performance in The Spoils of Babylon.  Check out the big categories below.
