Open Windows Trailer

Coming from director Nacho Vigalondo, who directed the mind bending Timecrimes, returns for another film experiment with Open Windows.  Here’s the synopsis:

Nick (Elijah Wood, Maniac, The Lord of the Rings) is excited to discover that he’s won a dinner date with his favorite actress, Jill Goddard (Sasha Grey, Would You Rather, The Girlfriend Experience). But when Jill refuses to honor the contest, her manager Chord (Neil Maskell, Wild Bill, Pusher) makes an offer he can’t refuse: the ability to view Jill secretly via computer. Nick begins watching the unknowing star on her webcam, not realizing that this decision will put both himself and Jill at risk as they enter a terrifying world of cat-and-mouse where nothing—and no one—are as they seem

The gimmick of the movie is that the majority of the action takes place on various computer screens, with things like Skype and Face Time (although probably knock offs of those for legal reasons).  I’ve seen reports from various festivals it’s been shown at that it’s kind of like a high tech Rear Window and it looks pretty cool, but probably not as mind bending as Timecrimes, but you never know.  It’s out on VOD on October 2nd and in theaters on November 7th.  You can check out the trailer below.
