  • Emma Watson starring in Disney’s live action Beauty & The Beast: Watson was originally starring in a Guillermo Del Toro version of the fairytale over at WB but that fell through and Disney scooped up the Harry Potter alum to star in their upcoming version.
  • First Adam Sandler Netflix movie Ridiculous 6: The first of the four pictures Sandler is making for Netflix will be a Western parody in the vein of The Magnificent Seven but starring Sandler, Taylor Lautner, Terry Crews, Rob Schneider and Luke Wilson and Nick Nolte.
  • The Strangers 2 in development: Director Marcel Langenegger is doing a follow up to the home invasion horror movie from 2008, this time following a family who goes to visit relatives but finds them dead at the hands of the trio of mysterious killers.
  • David Tennant co-starring as Zebediah Killgrave in Jessica Jones: Tennant will most likely be the main villain of AKA Jessica Jones.  In the comics Killgrave is known as The Purple Man and has fought Daredevil and the Avengers with his mind controlling pheromone powers.
  • Fox developing a live action X-Men series: In a bid to keep their rights, Fox is looking into developing a live action X-men TV series along with continuing the current series of films.  2 producers of 24 are on board but the show will have to go through negotiations with Marvel, as Fox has the movie rights but need approval before expanding into other media.
  • Mission Impossible 5 moves up to Summer 2015: Originally supposed to be coming out this holiday season, MI5 is now coming to the summer, July 31st to be exact.  It will be up against Southpaw, Tarsem Singh’s Selfless, and the Point Break remake.
  • Dollmaker coming to Gotham: The suddenly hot Batman villain will be coming to Gotham after appearances on Arrow and the upcoming Batman vs Robin.  Colm Feore will portray the villain on an upcoming episode, after having been mentioned back in episode 2 of the series related to a kidnapping plot that Selina Kyle escaped.
  • Tyrese Gibson wants to play Green Lantern: The Fast & Furious and Transformers star has been lobbying hard on social media to show his interest in playing John Stewart in the DC Cinematic Universe.  He’s linked a bunch of fan art on his Facebook and Twitter pages, one on Facebook has gotten over 265,000 likes.
  • Liam Hemsworth in talks for Independence Day 2: The Hunger Games co-star is apparently in talks to star in the upcoming ID4 sequel, possibly joining Michael B. Jordan as one of the newcomers alongside Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman.  Roland Emmerich is back to direct and it’s scheduled for next summer.
  • Ghostbusters remake close to finalizing cast: Paul Feig is apparently close to finalizing his new female Ghostbuster team and the ladies picking up the proton packs will most likely be Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones (of Top Five and SNL) and Kate McKinnon (from SNL).
  • Chris Pratt may be in the running for an Indiana Jones reboot: Disney is focusing on Star Wars but Indiana Jones is in their backpocket and now there is talk of a reboot and Chris Pratt is apparently Disney’s top choice to pick up the fedora and whip of Harrison Ford.
  • John Wick team directing Cowboy, Ninja, Viking: Speaking of Chris Pratt, one of his next projects will be the comic adaptation Cowboy, Ninja, Viking and the team behind John Wick, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, will be co-directing, so, if nothing else, it will probably have incredible action.
  • American version of Black Mirror apparently in the works: The critically acclaimed British anthology show will apparently get revamped for American audiences as Endemol Shine North America is planning a reboot in the near future.  Based on the British series, it would have to come to a premium cable network to keep the same tone.
  • Mehcad Brooks playing Jimmy Olsen in Supergirl: The True Blood star will join Melissa Benoist in CBS’ foray into comic book shows as Superman’s Best Friend, Jimmy Olsen.  He’ll be a photographer at the media company that Kara will be working at as her alter ego.
  • Hasbro could be making a Go-Bots movie: In an ironic twist, Hasbro acquired the rights to their former robotic competitors and have apparently registered a trademark for a possible Go-Bots movie or TV show, along with toys, comics, games and other merchandising.
  • Friday the 13th reboot delayed until 2016: Originally supposed to be out this November, the Friday the 13th reboot has been moved to next May, most likely because there was basically nothing to go on as far as actors or a script.
  • Zachary Quinto won’t be in Heroes Reborn: Sylar will not be a part of the Heroes reboot, as Zachary Quinto confirmed he will not be back.  Jack Coleman is so far the only OG cast member set to return and Zachary Levi joined the cast last week.
  • Rachael Taylor joins Jessica Jones as Hellcat: Taylor will play Trish Walker on Netflix’s Jessica Jones series, who is a radio talk show host and Jessica’s BFF.  In the comics universe, Trish’s alter ego is Hellcat, a Defender and Avenger who has telekinetic powers and retractable claws.
  • Future Star Wars release dates confirmed: Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed this week that after Episode VII this year, next year will see the first spin off movie, 2017 will give us Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII and IX will debut in 2019.
  • Lego Avengers and Jurassic World coming this year: The latest Lego games will be Jurassic World, which will feature all four Jurassic Park movies and Lego Avengers, which will feature the first Avengers and Age of Ultron.
