The Final Girls Trailer

If you combined Last Action Hero and Scream, you would most likely get the Sundance hit The Final Girls, which is coming to theaters and VOD in October.  Starring a fantastic ensemble that includes Thomas Middleditch, Taissa Farmiga, Malin Akerman, Alexander Ludwig, Nina Dobrev, Alia Shawkat and Adam Devine, the movie follows a group friends who attend a special screening of the movie “Camp Bloodbath”.  One of the girls, Max (Farmiga), has a person connection to the movie because her mother (Akerman) starred in it and it’s the anniversary of her death a year ago.  A fire breaks out in theater and the group escapes through the screen and ends up in the movie and need to use their knowledge of the movie to defeat the psychotic killer, Billy Murphy.  It looks pretty fun and there seems to be a lot of meta jokes as they encounter flashbacks and slow motion in the movie universe.  The movie is out on October 9th and you can check out the trailer below.
