Disney is going all in with live action reboots of their biggest animated hits and joining The Jungle Book this year is a remake of Pete’s Dragon.

Taking a different direction than the 1977 original, the new Pete (Oakes Fegley) is an orphan wild boy who has been living in the woods alone for six years until he’s found by a park ranger, Grace Meachum, played by Bryce Dallas Howard.  Pete claims he was helped by his friend Elliott, a dragon, but no one believes it except possibly Mr. Meachum (Robert Redford), Grace’s father, who has told stories about a dragon for years.  Wes Bentley, Oona Laurence, Karl Urban and Craig Hall co-star and David Lowery, who directed the movie Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, is directing and the movie is out in August.  Check out the trailer below.
