  • Mallrats sequel is now a 10 episode TV series: Kevin Smith revealed that after a lengthy negotiation with Universal about approving the script and getting the title back for Mallrats 2 and after directing his episode of The Flash, that he’s turned the sequel into a 10 episode TV series and is now working with Universal to figure out a release plan.
  • Comedy Central will roast Rob Lowe: The once and future Grinder will be the target of Comedy Central’s next roast, which will air this summer.
  • The entirety of Key & Peele is now online: Speaking of Comedy Central, they have revamped the Key & Peele section of their website so that the entire series is now online, with every sketch broken into it’s own video and the ability to create memes and gifs for all of them.  There’s also a wiki for all the recurring characters and bits and previously unseen sketches as well.
  • More additions for the female Ocean’s 11: The female Ocean’s 11 reboot is getting more heist members to join Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett with Helena Bonham Carter and Mindy Kaling as the latest additions.  Sandra Bullock is the Danny Ocean equivalent with Blanchett expected to be the Brad Pitt/Rusty equivalent.
  • Deus Ex Go is coming to mobile: Square Enix is continuing their trend of turning their franchises into mobile puzzle games with Deux Ex following up Hitman and Lara Croft GO.
  • The Suicide Squad is rated PG-13: DC’s upcoming team up is officially rated PG-13 by the MPAA for “sequences of violence and action throughout, disturbing behavior, and suggestive content and language”
  • Sacha Baron Cohen starring in a Mandrake the Magician movie: Cohen will star as the King Features hero, who is the world’s greatest illusionist and escape artist who is recruited by the government as a secret agent.  Etan Cohen, the writer and director of Get Hard, will direct the movie.  Mandrake previously teamed up with other King Features heroes like The Phantom and Flash Gordon.
  • Justice League Dark is the next animated DC movie: Based on a special feature revealed on the upcoming Killing Joke Blu Ray, the next animated feature for DC is Justice League Dark.  Guillermo Del Toro was working on live action version of the team previously, which includes John Constantine, Zatanna, Shade the Changing Man, Dead Man and Enchantress as they battle magical threats to the DC universe.
  • Mackenzie Davis joins Blade Runner 2: The Halt and Catch Fire star is joining the upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi film in an unknown role, which is the same as everyone else who has been cast so far.  Denis Villeneuve, director of Prisoners and Sicario, is directing the sequel.
  • Amazon orders five new pilots: The next batch of shows that will possibly become series based on viewer reaction have been revealed by Amazon.  There’s the Del Toro produced Carnival Row, which is set in an 18th Century London full of strange creatures and there’s a serial killer on the loose, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, set in the 1950’s and about the first female stand up comic, The Legend of Master Legend, following the real life superhero Master Legend and his sidekick Ace, Tropicana, a drama set in pre-revolutionary Cuba, and Strange New Things, about an English pastor who is part of a deep space expedition and has to leave his wife light years behind.
  • Telltale reveals The Walking Dead Season 3 is this Fall: Telltale revealed that Season 3 of their excellent Walking Dead series will start this Fall, presumably continuing to follow Clementine’s journey through the zombie apocalypse and they also revealed that the Telltale Batman series will start in the summer and we’ll get more at E3 this coming week.
  • Bob Odenkirk starring in new AMC miniseries: Odenkirk will star in an adaptation of David Carr’s memoir, The Night of the Gun.  Carr was a journalist turned crack addict who managed to turn his life around.  Shawn Ryan, of The Shield, Terriers and Last Resort, is writing the series, which will air on AMC sometime in the near future.
  • Volition announces a new game: The company behind the Saints Row series announced a new game called Agents of MAYHEM.  It’s a single player only, open world action game with MAYHEM being some sort of mercenary team called in to fight supervillains and other threats.  It’s apparently set in the Saints Row universe and more should be revealed at E3.
  • Horizon Zero Dawn delayed to 2017: The PS4 exclusive game from the Killzone developer Guerrilla Games has been delayed until next year.  The game was revealed at E3 last year and is set in the distant future where civilization has been destroyed and a new primitive society lives in the ruins and robotic animals roam the wilderness.
  • Superman will appear on Supergirl Season 2: After lots of teasing in the first season, Superman will actually appear on the upcoming second season of the show, which is now on CW.  They are currently looking for an actor to play the Man of Steel.
  • John Boyega starring in Pacific Rim 2: The Star Wars star will join the upcoming sequel to Pacific Rim as the son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost.  Spartacus and Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight is directing with Del Toro producing.
