It’s been four years since Rob Zombie directed a horror film with 2012’s Lords of Salem but he’s back now with the crowdfunded and clown filled 31. Taking place in 1976, a group of carnival workers are abducted while on the road to their next gig and find themselves being forced to play a sadistic game of survival for a trio of strangely aristocratic individuals. Along with the maze like setup and traps, there’s also a squad of murdering clowns making the group’s chances of lasting the full 12 hours seem unlikely. Malcolm McDowell plays the crazy leader of the aristocrats and Richard Brake plays the lead murderous clown, Doom-Head. Sheri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Kevin Jackson and Jeff Daniel Phillips are the group trying to survive. 31 will get a limited theatrical run on September 16th and probably will be on VOD at the same time or shortly after, check out the trailer below.
