It has been almost 75 years since Wonder Woman made her debut in All Star Comics. And after seeing the first trailer for her upcoming solo film take San Diego Comic Con by storm, I can say with confidence that it has been worth the wait.
No longer can we describe it as a “female” version of Captain America: The First Avenger. This movie, while just as epic in scope and heavy on nostalgia, has a look and feel entirely its own. Most important, we see Wonder Woman (Gal Godot), the surrogate daughter of Zeus, have what is presumably her first interaction with mankind (via Chris Pine) – essentially laying the foundation for the character’s sympathy (or disdain) for the human race.
Wonder Woman hits theatres on June 2nd (happy birthday to me!), 2017.
