Musical Montage: John Joyce “No Holds Barred”

Hogan-and-Lister-No-Holds-Barred

Before such classics as Suburban Commando and Mr. Nanny, the first attempt by the WWE to produce a film was the wrestling movie No Holds Barred in 1989.  Hulk Hogan plays Rip, who is basically the Hulkster, who is the target of the two biggest TV networks in the world and the evil World Television, who Hogan refuses to join, instead gets their own sadistic wrestling champion in Zeus, played by Tiny Lister.  There was actually a tie in match for the WWF with Hogan and Brutus Beefcake taking on Zeus and Macho Man for a special that was called No Holds Barred: The Movie/The Match.  The theme song for the film, also called No Holds Barred, which was performed by someone named John Joyce, who has no information online, but the more interesting fact is that it was written by Jim Johnston, the WWE’s go to music composer, who also created the theme songs for The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and many more.  Check out the song below.
