Musical Montage: Elvira “Monster Rap”

A horror icon since the 80’s, Cassandra Peterson’s alter ego of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark has appeared in all forms of media, from her own movie, to multiple pinball machines, comic books, her Movie Macabre show, commercials for products like Bud Light and, most relevant for us today, multiple albums including 1994’s “Monster Hits”, which features the song Monster Rap.  Sort of an updated Monster Mash, the song features Elvira rapping about the various famous monsters who arrive at a party, including Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, the Invisible Man and more.  She also name drops famous horror icons like Vincent Price and Boris Karloff.  Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an official music video for Monster Rap but you can listen to the song below.
