Musical Montage: Rob Zombie “Dragula”

To say Rob Zombie is a horror movie buff is one of the biggest understatements ever made, as his music and movies are full of homages and influenced by old and new classics of the genre.  When he went solo from White Zombie (which was named after a Bela Lugosi movie from 1932), his biggest and most successful song was Dragula from the Hellbilly Deluxe album.  Taking it’s name from Grandpa Munster’s drag racer Drag-U-La, the music video for the song features Zombie driving a similar hot rod while clips from classic horror movies are intercut and the robot monster from The Phantom Creeps even shows up at one point with Zombie.  The song hit # on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts and hit it’s peak in 1999 when a remix was featured in The Matrix but it also was featured in the soundtracks for PS1 games Gran Turismo 2, Sled Storm and Twisted Metal 4.  Check out the music video below.
