Musical Montage: Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone “City of Stars”

Although it didn’t win Best Picture, La La Land still took home the most awards with six out of it’s 14 nominations, including Best Original Song for “City of Stars”.  Written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul with music by Justin Hurwitz, the song is sung by stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, first separately, then together, as they start to realize they both want to be in a relationship after they see each other’s passion, Gosling with jazz and Stone with acting, and it’s hopeful but tinged with worry that it might not work out.  City of Stars was one of two songs that were nominated for Oscars, the other being Audition and personally, we would have like to have seen some love to something like Popstar’s amazing songs but what can you do?  Check out the City of Stars clip from La La Land below and check out all the 2017 Oscar winners here: https://www.everythingaction.com/2017/02/27/89th-academy-award-winners/
