- Riverdale team bringing Sabrina to The CW: The team behind Riverdale will be bringing another Archie character to The CW by adapting the much darker and serious The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic series that involves satanic cults and black magic. It will be most likely arriving for the 2018-2019 season.
- Cult of Chucky coming to Netflix day and date: Cult of Chucky, the follow up to the extremely well received Curse of Chucky, will arrive on Netflix the same day as it’s DVD/Blu-Ray release on October 3rd. Curse of Chucky is currently available right now on Netflix if you want to get ready.
- Hulu getting a ton of Godzilla movies: Starting on October 1st, Hulu is getting the Godzilla movies between Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II from 1993 to Godzilla Final Wars in 2005. They are also getting the Godzilla inspired Colossal by Nacho Vigalondo on October 4th.
- Linda Hamilton returning to the Terminator franchise: For the upcoming new Terminator movie directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron, Linda Hamilton will return as Sarah Connor. The movie wipes out all continuity and movies after T2 and will setup a new trilogy with a new female protagonist that Cameron and Miller are currently doing a casting search for.
- Taika Waititi in talks for Akira: WB has been working for seemingly ever to try and adapt the anime classic Akira to Western live action and now it might be one step closer to actually happening as apparently Thor: Ragnorak director Taika Waititi is in talks to helm the movie. Jordan Peele was offered the movie earlier this year after Get Out but turned it down to continue making original projects.
- All star cast for live Willy Wonka concert in LA: A concert event based on Willy Wonka is happening in November at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles that will mix footage from the Gene WIlder classic with actors on stage and special live effects and it was announced this week that John Stamos will be playing Willy Wonka, Finn Wolfhard will be Charlie and Weird Al will be the Oompa Loompas. Giancarlo Esposito, Richard Kind, Elle King and Ingrid Michaelson will co-star and the audience will get scratch and sniff cards to provide smells at key points and there will be a costume contest as well. Tickets are on sale now and the event is November 3rd and 4th.
- Zone of the Enders 2 coming back to PS4 and PSVR: Overlooked by the MGS series, Hideo Kojima’s insanely fast paced, arcadey mech game Zone of the Enders 2 is coming back in a remastered version with 4K support and enhanced graphics. There will also apparently be fully playable in PSVR as well and will be available on Steam. It’s arriving in the spring of 2018.
