Prepare for the boozed fueled adventures about the partying immortal Armstrong, and his mild mannered assassin partner Archer. A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong Deluxe Edition is jammed packed with complete twelve issues of A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong issues, two supplemental issues, and pages of bonus gallery content. The original A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong picked up a few years after the 2012 reboot of the Archer and Armstrong series left off. Before he was called Armstrong, he was Aram Anni-Padda, a once a great warrior from a time long ago. Given eternal life with his brothers Aram protected mankind from all forms of evils. But after countless battles and lost lives, Aram has changed into Armstrong, and has given up the warrior code for a life of quick thrills and good times. Archer was raised to be a living weapon at a young age, groomed to carry out assassinations by his cult leaders. While on a mission to eliminate Armstrong, Archer discovers the truth about his upbringings and realizes the only person that could help him was Armstrong.  Ever since then, the two have been inseparable, going on many adventures and making a huge mess where every they go.

 A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong is filled with tons of great humor and action. Writer Rafer Roberts lays out a  three arcs that tell a one fun giant narrative that takes a couple of years after Archer and Armstrong have teamed up. For Armstrong’s latest misadventures, he rediscovers hidden foes kept within his magical satchel that leads to a complex series of events that cause him to remembers his marriage, be part of a soviet conspiracy and dealing with a bunch or Florida Men. All while Archer is left to assist the best he can and trying to find time for love. Between the main parts of A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong are the episodic journey with Davey the Mackerel and the Bagmaker, two misfit characters that are comic reliefs in already hilarious series. 

Writer Rafer Roberts created a fun story filled with great jokes, jabs and call backs that gets the reader engaged for all twelve issues of A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong. Making all the gags possible is the artist team of David Lafuente, Mike Norton, Ryan Winn, Brain Reber, Allen Passalaqua, and David Baron. Every artist brought something different in telling the story, some highlighting the silly nature of the plot and others magnifying the grittier visuals. For new readers, it’s pretty easy to follow along the story without being lost to the characters. Armstrong’s past is filled with blank spots and his absent minded nature has caused a lot people to remind him what he has done. New and old readers will discover along as Armstrong has to confront his past deeds in wacky situations that really test Archer’s endurance. Even a lethal man like Archer has his limits. Overall, A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong Deluxe Edition is the total package for catching up on the latest about the mismatch pair and where their journey will lead them to next. For readers that have missed out on one of the best Valiant Comics heroes, this is the chance to get acquainted.
