The Pull List – The Life and Death of Toyo Harada #2

When Toyo Harada traveled away from Japan in his youth, he led a crew of loyal followers that believed in his abilities. But harsh storm brought the powerful psiot to his knees. Now in the present, a new storm is heading for Harada. As a coalition of anti-Harada organization stands outside of Harada’s safety zone, it’s only a matter of time before trouble finds its way in. Can Harada fend off the attacks before he can complete the space elevator?

In Harada’s past, he once captained a vessel with a crew that followed his every command. The young Harada had just begun to explore his own powers. Some had joined his crew to be in the presence of an all-powerful entity. Others chased the profits, taking the spoils from conquering enemies. Blinded by his ego, the young Harada thought he could take on anything, even a great typhoon. But his hubris will have devastating consequences of his followers.

Jumping to in the present time, Harada’s extended forces draw in many powerful supporters to join his cause. Many soldiers fight to help Harada’s vision for peace to come true. Harada’s second in command, Ingrid Hillcraft, oversees much of the operation and has Harada’s trust. Her goal is to help Harada, even if the odds are stacked against them.

A few members fight with Harada to complete their own goals. Harada found allies from space that will work for Harada for resources. Angela Vessel, a scientist that is host to a telepathic alien, pressures Harada to give her more research materials. She has been studying Earth and wants to utilize its assets. But when Vessel something that challenges Harada’s morals, he begins to question Vessel’s loyalty.

The tension for Harada to react is exciting, as the space elevator moves closer to completion, Harada will see who he can rely on and who he will have to push away. Harada’s path was never a clean one, and comic writer Joshua Dysart explores the dubious actions that influenced the omega-level psiot. Dysart examines the victories and loses, hinting at the destiny that awaits Harada at the end. The story is like a chess game, with all the pieces falling into place and a grand scheme is underway.
