Amanda Ripley and Zula Hendricks discover a single survivor of Weyland-Yutani’s experiment. A young colonist named Alec Brand was one of a thousand kidnapped victims that found themselves on a remote planet. Weyland-Yutani’s classified planet has been the testing grounds of modified Xenomorphs to breed. A horde of weaponizing Xenomorphs are deadlier than ever and many innocent lives were sacrificed. Alec can be the key evidence to stop Weyland-Yutani, but only if he makes it off the planet alive. Amanda and Zula must rescue Alec before it’s too late.
In a mission where Amanda and Zula traveled to secret laboratories, space stations and the vacuum of space, a planet with Xenomorphs is the last thing they wanted to visit. They had survived incidents with Xenomorphs in the past but this fight is on the Xenomorphs’ domain. Amanda and Zula have been fighting to save their own lives but must protect Alec, no matter the cost. The odds of survival dwindle with each firefight and time is running out before desperate measures are used.
This issue brings Amanda and Zula to the living proof of Weyland-Yutani’s inhumane operation. Brian Wood challenges the pair of survivors to navigate a desolate jungle filled with Xenomorphs hunting for flesh. Wood creates a great sense of tension and agonizing setting with Amanda and Zula fend off the pursuting swarm of Xenomorphs. Robert Carey and Dan Jackson once again have great visuals. They did not hold back the gore factor, depicting violent sequences with stomach-turning details. However, the art also shows off interesting sci-fi landscapes and excellent color shading that plays with shadows and bright colors. The next issue is the finale to this story arc where Amanda and Zula are pushed into their most dangerous encounter yet.
