Musical Montage: Dogstar

As we get ready for the return of the man, the myth, the legend John Wick this coming weekend, it seems like a perfect time to look back on the time Keanu Reeves was in a 90s alt-rock band, Dogstar.  Formed in 1991, Keanu randomly met fellow actor Robert Mailhouse at a supermarket and they bonded over their love of hockey. They started jamming in garages and were joined by singer/lead guitarist Gregg Miller and officially formed the band Dogstar (Original names were Small Fecal Matter and Big Fucking Sound).  The band started touring and opened for David Bowie for a 1995 Hollywood Paladium show and the band put out an EP and two albums, although there weren’t any major hits and none of the albums really charted.  Bret Demrose joined the band in 1994 as an additional guitarist and singer (Keanu was the band’s bass player).  The band broke up in 2002 after performing in Japan.  You can check out some of band’s songs below.
