The Pull List – Xena: Warrior Princess #6

Making their way from across the globe, Xena and her companions have made it back to Greece. While they are back in their homeland, their troubles are not over yet. To restore Discord’s godhood, she must travel to Mount Olympus and face the judgment of her family. Discord was exiled for the mistreatment of humans but did the time spent with Xena and Gabrielle reform the former wicked the goddess?

Traveling is said to offer new perspectives, but does it apply to expulsion to far off distant lands? Xena and Gabrielle never expected to find themselves far from home when they stopped Discord from terrorizing a small village. And Discord didn’t think Zeus take away her powers and be stuck with the heroes that foiled her plans. However, through their adventures in exotic locations, the group set aside their differences. Fighting off angry townspeople, monsters and defending the weak, the group has managed to make it back to Greece. It will take everything the group has left to change Zeus’s mind and see if they can change their own fate.

Xena: Warrior Princess is a great story that presents Xena and Gabrielle in the similar style of the TV show. Vita Ayala has done an excellent job capturing the spirit of the familiar structure while expanding the adventure to a global level. The six-part story lets gave the narration an even pace, allowing Ayala to flesh out more character development and the scale of the story. The expansive setting that pits them against many mythical entities never before encountered, and any story where Xena takes on Dracula is going to win nerd points in any comic fan’s eyes.

Xena: Warrior Princess #6 was released on September 18th, 2019.
