After two long years, Pax East was ready to rocket off again and bring gamers together to reach new heights of fun. Pax East 2022 was held on April 21 – 24, and it was a four-day celebration with people from across the country and around the world, showcasing the latest and greatest in games, technology, and creativity. She travels far from her home to a distant land to seek answers.  But no matter how far she travels to foreign lands, she finds familiar danger. Developed by IllFonic, known for Predator: Hunting Grounds and Friday the 13th: The Game, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a 4V1 asymmetrical multiplayer title that pits a team of newly recruited Ghostbusters against the ghostly undead. Set sometime after the events of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Winston Zeddemore (voiced by Ernie Hudson) leads fresh recruits to take on take on a new rise of paranormal activities in New York. Players will use their equipment, wits, and teamwork to capture these spiritual pests.

A dark age falls on the world when a mystical plant is discovered, granting those with a greed for power to untether their desires. A perilous force grows across the lands, striking down kingdoms and the innocent to a great evil. A few will stand against the rising threat to prevent the total corruption of mankind in The Spine of Night.

It was time to flip cards, roll dice, and move meeples. Pax Unplugged 2021 arrived in Philadelphia to host three days of tabletop fun. Held December 8 – 10th in the Philadelphia Convention  Center, Unplugged brought together tabletop vendors, game makers, panelists, and fans, for some analog fun. During the event, we got to check out some new titles, reimagined classics, and a few early builds of upcoming projects. Check out our experience below. 

As 2021 comes to a close, we wrapped up the last bits of gaming for the year. We got to float around in the seas in Trash Sailors, silently took out enemies in Aiko’s Choice, survived a fast-food nightmare in Happy Humble Farms, bounced and toss robots around in Clockwork Aquario, hunted for resources in Mechajammer, and got some fun in the sun with friends in Retired Men’s Nude Beach Volleyball League.

As we prepare for the holiday season, let’s make sure that children across the country are able to take part in the festivities with proper meals.
