A cult comedy classic, Wet Hot American summer is, IMHO, one of the funniest movies ever made.  Featuring a mind boggling cast of future comedy stars like Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Michael Ian Black, Molly Shannon, Elizabeth Banks and Michael Showalter, the movie follows the increasingly insane final day at Camp Firewood.  Every scene is pretty much hilarious but for Musical Montage we’re going to highlight two of the best musical moments from the movie.  The first is what happens when camp director Beth and some of the counselors head into town and the other is our hero, Coop, in a training montage to discover “the new way”.

The Hangover Part II

Starring: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifinakis, Ken Jeong, Justin Bartha

Plot: The Wolfpack heads to Thailand for Stu’s wedding and, somehow, overdoes it again the night before the wedding.  Stu, Phil and Alan wake up in a seedy hotel in Bangkok and must figure out what happened the night before and find Stu’s future brother in law, Teddy.

Kung Fu Panda 2

Plot: Po the Panda, now the legendary Dragon Warrior, must journey with the Furious Five to stop a powerful new enemy who is about to unleash a weapon that could destroy Kung Fu.

• Bradley Cooper in talks for The Crow remake: Relativity Media’s remake of The Crow has had an up and down run trying to get into production but a major step toward it getting made might be happening as Bradley Cooper is supposedly in talks to play the title character.  I really like Bradley Cooper but he doesn’t seem like a good fit for a dark, brooding character like The Crow and the bar was set incredibly high by Brandon Lee in the original.  We’ll have to see if this thing even gets made first.
• Walter Hill directing Stallone in Headshot: For Sly’s next non-Expendables gig, he’s starring in the buddy action flick Headshot.  Stallone is playing a veteran assassin who teams up with a rookie NYPD cop to investigate a series of murders.  It was announced this past week that Walter Hill, director of Red Heat, Last Man Standing and The Warriors, will be directing the movie.
• They Live remake in the works: Universal announced this past week that Matt Reeves will be making a new thriller based on the Ray Nelson short story “Eight O’Clock in the Morning” which was also the inspiration for the cult classic They Live.  Reeves’ version is supposed to be less goofy than John Carpenter’s classic and closer to the original story, where the main character just woke up one day with the revelation that there are aliens among us controlling society.  Reeves is a talented up and comer and, while I love They Live, it wouldn’t hurt to have a more concentrated, serious take on the story.
• Completed Green Lantern Suit: Warner Bros. released some shots of the completed effects for Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern suit this week:

We got an amazing teaser trailer for The Hangover Part II a couple weeks ago and now the full trailer has been released.  The trio of Stu, Phil and Alan are back for another crazy bachelor party, this time for Stu in Bangkok.  Stu’s fiance’s brother Teddy is missing after going out with the guys for drinks, so once againg, the guys have to retrace their steps and figure out what the hell they did the night before.  It looks like if you liked the first one, you’ll like this one and it’s always awesome to have Ken Jeong along for the ride.  Check out the the trailer below and the movie is out this Memorial Day.

• Bradley Cooper says A-Team 2 is a no go: During an interview with Empire magazine for Limitless, Bradley Cooper said that revenues from the first A-Team movie weren’t good enough to warrant a sequel, bummer.
• New Ninja Turtles cartoon coming to Nickelodeon in 2012: Nickelodeon bought the rights the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for $60 million and next year they’ll finally start capitalizing on that purchase.  Nick has produced 26 half hour episodes and the look of the Turtles is like a more cartoony version of the CG turtles from TMNT.
• Stallone not directing or writing Expendables II: We got some news this week about the sequel to Everything Action’s Movie of the Year for last year.  Unlike The Expendables, Sly will just be starring in the movie and he’s helping the studio find a director.  Screenwriters Ken Kaufman and David Agosto will be writing the script.
• TeenNick bringing back tons of 90′s shows: Someone got our letters; TeenNick is going to soon be reairing a bunch of our favorite 90′s Nickelodeon shows in a Midnight to 2AM block called “The 90′s are All That”.  Shows coming back to the airwaves include Rugrats, Pete & Pete, Kenan & Kel, All That, The Amanda Show, All That and Clarissa Explains It All.
• New Tomb Raider movie in the works: GK Films has acquired the rights to the Tomb Raider franchise and plans on rebooting the series, possibly with an origin/early adventure of Lara Croft.
• Lord of the Rings Extended Editions coming to Blu Ray: Amazon is taking pre orders on the Blu Ray release of the Extended Editions of the LOTR trilogy, although no release date has been announced yet.

Most likely getting attached to Hall Pass this weekend, we have the the first teaser for The Hangover Part II.  This time the guys are heading to Thailand for Stu’s wedding and despite his efforts to have a tame pre-wedding brunch instead of a bachelor party, crazy shit ensues once again.  I really liked The Hangover but I didn’t think it was the second coming of comedy that a lot of people thought it was but I like the trio of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifinakis and I’m sure there will be crazy cameos, so I’ll probably check it out.  The movie is coming out on Memorial Day this year and you can check out the trailer below.

After two weeks of big, blockbuster trailers, the theme for this week seems to be smaller movies we didn’t know existed until this week.  Add “Limitless” to that list.  Bradley Cooper stars as an author who starts taking a drug that unlocks the full potential of his mind, letting him finish his latest book in four days, dominate the stock market and more.  Robert De Niro co-stars as a shadowy businessman who wants to know Cooper’s secret and it kind of seems like if “A Beautiful Mind” was a thriller.  Seems kind of interesting but I don’t think any of us are going to be lining up to see it.  Decide for yourself by checking out the trailer below and the movie is out sometime next year.

The A-Team

So the day after we get the groin grabbingly awesome Expendables trailer we get a new longer trailer for it’s summer competitor, The A-Team.  Liam Neeson is Hannibal, Rampage Jackson is BA, Bradley Cooper is Face and Sharlto Copley is Murdock, pretty great casting but I gotta go with the internet consensus which is we are way less excited for this after seeing The Expendables trailer.  In the trio of  mercenary team movies coming out this year Expendables is definitely my number one must watch and I think I might want to see The Losers more than the A-Team just because I think it’s looking like it’s got a better sense of humor and it’s not going to be stupidly ridiculous i.e. no tanks blowing up planes in mid air. It looks like they’re going in a little bit of a parody route with The A-Team and it’s not working from what I’ve seen (Why would BA hum the A-Team theme?) I’m definitely still going to see the A-Team but I’m a little worried it might be a train wreck. The big screen debut of the A-Team is this summer and we have the first trailer for it.  Starring Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Face, Rampage Jackson as B.A. and Sharlto Copley as Murdock, the trailer looks pretty good.  They’ve got the voice over intro, the van, everybody looks and sounds like their 80′s counterpart. I’m on the fence about the end where the team bails out of a plane in a tank on parachutes and then proceeds to blow up another plane with the tank’s machine gun.  It’s like something out of Crank but the show was always ridiculous so hopefully it will work in the actual movie.  Judge for yourself by watching the trailer below:

The idea has been kicking around for a while but it looks like the A-Team movie might be ramping up.  It was announced a while back that Liam Neeson was to play Hannibal and that Bradley Cooper was going to play Faceman.  Last week news came out that UFC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was going to play B.A. Baracus.  The most recent news is that Jessica Biel and Sharlto Copley were the newest cast members added.  Copley, fresh off of District 9, is being offered the role of Howling Mad Murdock and Jessica Biel is being offered an as yet unknown role.  The movie is being produced by Fox and is being directed by Joe Carnahan, who previously directed Smokin’ Aces and Narc.  Ridley Scott is supposed to be on board as a producer.  What do you think of a remake of the A-Team and what your ideal new A-Team be?  Let us know in comments.

All About Steve

There was lots of speculation near the end of the week about who would be wearing the power ring of the Green Lantern.  Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake were all said to be in contention but it appears that Van Wilder has won the role.  The movie will focus on Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern as he and the Guardians of the Universe fend off the likes of Sinestro and Legion.  There’s no word yet about how this would affect a Deadpool movie (also starring Reynolds) but a lot of fans are worried it might not happen.  For a taste of what a Green Lantern movie might be like here’s an awesome fan made trailer from a month or two ago:
