Riding high on some of the best reviews of the last few months, Jordan Peele’s directorial debut Get Out took the top spot at the box office with $30.5 million while the two other new releases were epic bombs.
The Lego Batman Movie stayed on top for the holiday weekend while The Great Wall did the best of the newcomers and John Wick Chapter 2 has already made more than the first movie made in it’s entire run.
The best weekend of the year for movies so far had The Lego Batman Movie on top while John Wick Chapter 2 managed to double the opening of it’s predecessor and Rings took a massive nosedive in it’s second weekend and Fifty Shades Darker made about half as much as it’s predecessor.
Lego Batman and John Wick Chapter 2 are apparently as awesome as all hoped while Fifty Shades Darker is as terrible as we expected.
The first two of our most anticipated movies of 2017 arrive with John Wick Chapter Two and The Lego Batman Movie while there’s also horror in the form of Rings, A Cure for Wellness and Get Out, the next sleazy chapter in the Fifty Shades series and more.
