IT: Chapter Two managed to hold off a stronger than predicted Hustlers to remain on top of the box office for a second weekend while The Goldfinch crashed and burned with one of the worst openings of all time.
Although it couldn’t match the first movie’s opening, IT: Chapter Two was still massive with the seventh biggest opening of 2019 and the second largest horror opening of all time.
In the second-worst performing box office weekend of the year, Angel Has Fallen remained on top for the second week in a row while the weekend’s only new release, Don’t Let Go, opened well outside the top 10.
Gerard Butler’s *Blank* Has Fallen franchise got it’s first #1 opening with the third entry, Angel Has Fallen, while Hobbs & Shaw exploded into China with the biggest August opening ever there.
Good Boys was the surprise winner at the box office, toppling Hobbs & Shaw and becoming only the third original film of 2019 to top the box office.
