The 90th Academy Awards are this weekend but the only awards that actually matter are our Kick Ass Awards, celebrating the best and worst of the previous year, including the Ass Kicker of the Year and the Kick Ass Movie of 2017.

One of the best weeks in recent memory for new releases as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray along with a bunch of the most recent seasons of great shows like Daredevil, The Walking Dead, Ash vs Evil Dead, Supergirl and more.

Wonder Woman remained on the top of the charts while The Mummy failed in the US but seems like a hit everywhere else, giving Tom Cruise his biggest ever worldwide opening.
Wonder Woman destroyed the competition over the weekend with the highest ever opening for a female directed film and the 16th best opening of all time for comic book adaptations.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales took the top spot at the box office but only topped Curse of the Black Pearl as far as openings while The Rock suffered his first flop in a long time in Baywatch, which was defeated by Guardians Vol. 2 in it’s fourth weekend of release.
Alien: Covenant managed to just barely beat Guardians Vol. 2 at the box office but it’s opening was way down from Prometheus’ opening back in 2012.
