Into the Spider-Verse took the top spot at the box office with the biggest December opening ever for an animated movie while Clint Eastwood had one of his best openings ever for The Mule and Mortal Engines could potentially be the biggest disaster of 2018.
After a few barren weeks at the box office, four new (well three new and one rejiggered) movies hit theaters including the highly anticipated Into the Spider-Verse, the latest from Clint Eastwood, a Peter Jackson backed YA adaptation and a PG-13 Deadpool for the whole family.
2018 closes out with tons of huge blockbusters for the holiday season, including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Aquaman, Mortal Engines, Bumblebee, Mary Poppins Returns and more.

Produced by Peter Jackson, Mortal Engines is an adaptation of Philip Reeve’s novel of the same name that is set in a post-apocalyptic future where cities have become giant traveling vehicles that battle each other for resources.
