Hobbs & Shaw held off all of the new releases that opened over the weekend to stay on the top of the box office while Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark did the best of those aforementioned new releases.
Hobbs & Shaw dominated the first weekend of August, but it was only a middle of the road opening for the Fast & Furious franchise and below all the Fast movies since Fast Five.
The Lion King remained on top of the box office for its second weekend out but had the biggest drop from the opening weekend for the recent Disney remakes while Tarantino had his biggest opening ever with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
