A longer look at the upcoming reboot of Spider-Man debuted today and gives a glimpse of what The Lizard will look like and some more plot details.

Last July we got the first trailer for The Amazing Spider Man and this week we got the full theatrical trailer, which is thankfully less emo than the first trailer and give the first glimpses of The Lizard. Marc Webb of (500) Days of Summer is directing this reboot and The Social Network’s Andrew Garfield is taking over as the web slinger with Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Emma Stone and Denis Leary and Rhys Ifans co-starring. I think everyone would have preferred a continuation of the Sam Raimi trilogy instead of going back to the origin yet again but this new trailer reveals some new stuff that could be interesting, like Peter’s father working with Dr. Connors at Oscorp and Peter being seemingly unmasked in public. The Lizard looks pretty different from his previous incarnations and almost looks more like Killer Croc from Batman. I’m slightly more excited for Spider-Man now than after the first trailer and will definitely check it out when it comes out. What do you guys think of this trailer?

Book sequel to “Drive” coming out in April: Drive, one of the most well received movies of 2011, was based on a book by author James Sallis and Sallis has finished a sequel, called “Driven”, that will continue the adventures of the unnamed wheelman/stuntman, played by Ryan Gosling in the movie.

American Horror Story house actually for sale: The murder magnet, ghost filled house of FX’s American Horror Story is actually for sale in the greater Los Angeles area for $4.5 million. The house and it’s interior were used in the pilot of the show and currently an exact replica of the interior has been built at a soundstage. Demonic gimp suits and slutty ghost maids are not included in the price.

Green Goblin Makeup Test video from Spider Man 1: I don’t know about you guys, but I personally cannot get enough of these abandoned special FX like the animatronic Hulk, Nicolas Cage’s Superman suit and now we have the rejected Green Goblin FX from the first Sam Raimi Spider Man movie. We all know that they eventually went with the weird Power Rangers armor for the Green Goblin but watch this and just imagine how amazing it would have been and how they could not gone this direction.

First Look at Stallone in “Bullet to the Head”: Besides The Expendables 2, Stallone is continuing his return to action with “Bullet to the Head”, directed by Walter Hill and co-starring Jason Momoa and Christian Slater and based on a graphic novel where a hitman and cop have to team up to solve a series of grisly murders. The first image of the movie came out this week and features Stallone battling, more than likely, Jason Momoa with fire axes.

After Entertainment Weekly released a tons of pictures from the upcoming Spider Man reboot last week, we now have the first trailer for it.

Entertainment Weekly had a bunch of promo shots for next year’s The Amazing Spider-Man but now, before it debuts in front of Captain America this weekend, the first trailer has been released for Marc Webb’s reboot of the Spider Man franchise. Andrew Garfield stars as Peter Parker, who seems much more emo and dark than Tobey Maguire’s take on the character. Emma Stone plays his love interest, Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans plays Dr. Curt Connors, who gets transformed into the villainous Lizard. Some aspects of the Spider Man story that were left out of Sam Raimi’s trilogy are back in this one including the mysterious circumstances surrounding Peter’s parents disappearance, the mechanical web shooters and Gwen Stacy being his love interest instead of Mary Jane, who was introduced later than Gwen in the comics. Webb also looks like he’s going to be introducing some interesting visual flair to this movie as well, especially that first person sequence at the end of the trailer. Check out the trailer below and the movie is out next summer.

Arnold starring in The Last Stand as first movie back: Arnold has had a myriad of personal problems as of late but he is still returning to movies in the near future and his first movie back on screen will be The Last Stand, directed by Korean director Kim Ji-Woon, who most recently directed I Saw the Devil. The Last Stand will find Arnold as a small town sheriff whose town becomes the last place US authorities will be able to stop the most dangerous drug kingpin in the country. The kingpin has a specially modified car, a hostage and an army of gang members.

Sony announces a huge shake up with the Spider Man franchise as Raimi is out and the next film will be a complete reboot.

Spider Man 4 has been all over the place recently, first with casting rumors of John Malkovich playing The Vulture and now Sony has said that they are completely scrapping the Raimi/Maguire series and starting fresh with a reboot. Raimi walked after concerns over the script and schedule and Sony has hired script writer James Vanderbilt to write the reboot. Sony says the new Spidey series will follow a Peter Parker who is still in high school and will have to deal with all the major teen concerns along with his super powered ones. This sounds exactly like Ultimate Spider Man where Marvel restarted the series with revamped villains and making it more contemporary (Peter’s an intern on The Daily Bugle’s blog, for instance). Spider Man 3 was a major disappointment but it seems a little early for a complete reboot. We’ll have to wait to 2012 to see it.

*Updated* It’s been announced the (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb has been tapped to helm the new reboot and the movie is supposed to arrive in the summer of 2012.

We give our impressions of some of the latest trailers including the big Tron and Alice in Wonderland trailers from Comic Con.

So Comic Con has come and gone and while there’s footage that most of us won’t see until the actual movies/tv shows actually hit there were some trailers that we have to talk about.

Tron Legacy

Zach: Let me just change my pants here…ok. What else can you really say other than this looks awesome. The original Tron was the first movie to really feature CG and this one looks like it’s going to try to kick it up to the next level. From seeing some of the concept art it looks like they’re going to be updating Jai Alai and Disc as well as the light bikes in the trailer. I think this and possibly Avatar in 3D are going to explode people’s brains out the back of their skulls.

Brian: I was expecting a jump in the CGI, but… wow. That is just jaw-dropping. Got to love the light bikes, too. It’s impossible to do a movie like this and NOT have in 3D. I’ll be waiting with ticket in hand when this sequel comes out.

Alice in Wonderland

Zach: If you thought the promo photos were freaky, wait till you see Johnny Depp in action as the Mad Hatter. Seeing this trailer, it’s pretty obvious that Tim Burton is the perfect choice for directing a Wonderland movie, it was already kind of freaky but Burton takes it to the next level. It’s got a great look and I can’t wait to see Burton’s take on all the Wonderland natives.

Brian: Tim Burton is known for his creepy-but-cool movies, and picking him to do an update of “Alice in Wonderland” was a perfect choice. Especially after watching the trailer. Burton also deserves credit for going with a little known actress in the title role rather than some popular Hollywood bimbo who could’ve turned it into a star vehicle. Another impressive looking trailer.

Ninja Assassin

Zach: Never heard about this one till the trailer came out last week at Comic Con and online but we have Korean pop star Rain starring in Ninja Assassin. It looks like your typical martial arts/action movie with fights in a building on fire, in the rain, ninjas, that sort of thing. I also don’t know about Rain’s acting ability, if there is such a thing. Seems like a DVD rental/catch it on USA sort of thing.

Brian: I enjoy ninja flicks as much as the next person, but lately just all seem to be about betrayal and other similar targets. Meh. This trailer doesn’t really excite me, especially with its corny cliche dialogue (“They won’t stop until you’re dead.”) I agree with Zach here, a rental or late night viewing at best.

Hot Tub Time Machine

Zach: Apparently someone high up enjoyed our buddy Mike Parker’s CollegeHumor show “Clock Suckers” because this movie is kind of the exact same thing. Well, instead of a bath tub it’s a hot tub. This seems like it could be good though; it’s got a great cast with John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Clark Duke and Craig Robinson as the gang who travels via hot tub to 1986. I loved Craig Robinson’s cocaine fueled freak out about Terminator and there’s probably some jokes still to mine about 80′s pop culture.

Brian: Ah, a goofy comedy. Don’t know how I feel about this one, seems like a movie Jack Black turned down. But Craig Robinson is hilarious, and so is Rob Corddry. But the real dark horse here is John Cusack whose involvement is interesting to say the least. Might be a fun movie, who knows.

Jennifer’s Body

Zach: So here’s the dilemna with this movie, on the one hand you have Megan Fox, half naked and a cheerleader and on the other hand it’s written by Diablo Cody, who let Juno out onto the world and caused me to almost foam at the mouth by how pissed off it made me. It seems like they want a sort of Evil Dead meets Species thing going on but I’m dubious because besides Sam Raimi, there aren’t a lot of people who can pull off horror/comedy sucessfully. We’ll have to see how it fares when it comes out later this year.

Brian: The trailer’s been removed. Also, this movie is written by Diablo Cody and starring Megan Fox. Don’t even need to watch it. PASS.

Sherlock Holmes

Zach: After Iron Man, I’m pretty much down for whatever Robert Downey Jr. is doing and Sherlock Holmes looks like it could be a lot of fun. Guy Ritchie has been sort of lackluster lately, I’ve heard, but it looks like there’s some cool stuff going on including the boxing with “Fight Night” like slo mo and Holmes’ patented cane fighting and it’s got a sense of humor as well. I might have to check it out when it comes out.

Brian: Ritchie said in an interview how he culled a bit about Holmes being a little proficient in karate. The trailer is pretty fun and funny even though I’m not too keen on Rachel McAdams being the female lead. I have faith that even if the movie’s a little bit sucky, Downey Jr. will find a way to pull it out. I’ll be watching.

Spider Man 4 producer Todd Black drops some hints about what we can expect from the wall crawler's fourth big screen outing.

The New York Post had some details about Spider Man 4, which they got after interviewing producer Todd Black about “The Taking of Pelham 123″. He mentioned that Kirsten Dunst isn’t being replaced in the new movie and that there are not plans to feature the big wedding of Peter and MJ in the new movie. He also mentioned that, contrary to online rumor, Morbius the Vampire is not going to be featured in the movie. Morbius first showed up in the Animated Series where he was Michael Morbius, one of Peter’s college science rivals who injects himself with infected Spider Man blood he stole to further some of his research. He becomes a vampire of sorts during the night and needs to consume people’s plasma to survive. He showed up a few more times, even getting hunted by Blade at one point. Sam Raimi mentioned he liked the character at one point but looks like he’s remaining on the small screen for now.

In other Spidey news, Black mentioned that: “We’re just coming up with who the villain’s going to be now. We’ll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it’ll be a big part of New York.” The Internets have already started speculating and the big forerunners right now are The Kingpin, Kraven the Hunter and The Lizard as possible supsects. The Kingpin was actually featured in the dreadful Daredevil and was played by Michael Clarke Duncan. Kraven the Hunter could make an interesting villain but he doesn’t really have any big New York vibe about him. Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard has already shown up in the Spidey movies as Peter’s college professor so that is probably a good guess as well. I can think of a couple big villains that haven’t shown up yet like Hobgoblin, The Vulture, Carnage, Electro, Mysterio, Scorpion, Rhino and Shocker. I also think the villain being the Sinister Six would be an awesome choice but seeing how they juggled three villain is Spidey 3 I wouldn’t be to optimistic about that. Hopefully with Sam Raimi cleansing his pallete with “Drag Me to Hell” he can get Spider Man back on track. Who do you think would be a good villain for Spider Man 4? Let us know in the comments.
