Guardians Vol. 2 remained at the top of the box office for another weekend while King Arthur suffered a massive disaster of an opening which could potentially lose WB over $150 million.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 kicked off Summer 2017 in huge fashion with the biggest sequel improvement ever for the MCU with over $145 million and the 2nd best domestic opening of the year.
Fate of the Furious easily held onto the top spot at the box office as it closed in on $1 billion worldwide while none of the new releases even made it into the top 5.
Everyone expected Fate of the Furious to be huge but it blew away all expectations with the highest global opening of all time, defeating Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Controversial Ghost in the Shell flopped this weekend while Dreamworks’ The Boss Baby emerged as the new box office champ, unseating Beauty and the Beast.
March closes out with three not so great movies according to the critics as Ghost in the Shell, The Boss Baby and The Zookeeper’s Wife are all rotten over on Rotten Tomatoes.
March seems more like a summer month than a spring one, at least as far as the box office, as huge movies like Logan, Kong: Skull Island and Beauty and the Beast are all coming out.
