Guardians of the Galaxy was finally unseated after five weeks in the top spot by the new Idris Elba/Taraji P. Henson thriller, No Good Deed, while Dolphin Tale 2 had a fairly weak opening compared to the first movie.
Guardians of the Galaxy, shocking no one, remained on top of a weekend that brought us one new movie, the massive bomb The Identical. Overall, it was one of the worst performing weekends in the last 10 years.
Guardians of the Galaxy continued it’s domination of the box office this weekend and is closing in on $300 million total while the new releases both bombed.
There was massive success and massive failure this weekend as Guardians of the Galaxy is set to become the highest grossing movie of the year while Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was one of the biggest disasters of the year.
