Divergent easily took the box office this past weekend as the best performing of the recent glut of YA action/adventures but still nowhere near the level of The Hunger Games.
The Lego Movie rode it’s incredible reviews to the second best opening ever for February and one of the best original animated movie openings ever.

Despite some great reviews, The World’s End and You’re Next were nowhere near able to top The Butler, which easily took the box office for the second week in a row.
Supposed to be released last Summer, GI Joe: Retaliation gambled on a 3D conversion and an early spring release and it seems to have paid off with a number one debut almost on par with the original GI Joe movie.

Jimmy Kimmel unveiled his latest epic movie trailer last night after the Oscars with Movie: The Movie 2V, where he and Jessica Chastain have to assemble a team to fight an apocalyptic horde of sexy monsters.
Twilight not surprisingly won the box office over the weekend while Skyfall remained strong and Lincoln befitted greatly from it’s expansion to wide release.
Skyfall had the best Bond opening weekend ever, which makes sense since it’s one of the best Bond movies ever.
