A classic of the 80′s ninja genre, Pray for Death stars Sho Kosugi as a mild mannered Japanese business man, Akira Saito, who has a secret past as a master of ninjitsu.  He moves his family to America at his wife’s behest and they buy a restaurant in a horrible section of the New Orleans looking city they move to.  Unknown to the family, a criminal gang has been hiding a cache of stolen diamonds in the abandoned cigar store connected to the restaurant but they go missing and a things quickly spiral out of control until Akira is forced to unleash his full ninja arsenal against the criminals.  It’s super cheesy in the best way possible and you can watch the whole movie, thanks to YouTube and whatever studio that has the rights to Pray for Death not caring.

Red Letter Media’s Mike has already given his in depth reviews of The Phantom Menace and Avatar and now he returns for his most epic review to date, a 9 part dissection of Attack of the Clones.  Although he might be a mentally unstable serial killer, he also gives an extremely detailed review of all the reasons why Attack of the Clones is terrible, including the plot, horrible love story, lack of characters and overuse of CG.  Check out the first part below and then head over to youtube to watch the rest if you have a spare hour and a half.

Making it’s way around the interwebs for the past couple of weeks has been this epic and hilarious dissection of every reason why The Phantom Menace sucks rancor balls.  Divided into 7 parts and coming in at a whopping 70 minutes, Milwaukee film critic/videographer Mike Stoklasa points out all the gaping plot holes, lack of a main character and generally boringness of the movie that continues to give nerds spasms.  Check out the first part below and the rest on youtube.

One of the things that caused quite a buzz at Comic Con this year was some footage from the upcoming comic adaptation Kick Ass.  Based on the comic series by Mark Millar and pretty much completely funded by producer Matthew Vaughn, it tells the story of teenager David Lizewski who is obsessed with superheroes and decides to become one himself, only to get almost killed in his first fight.  Eventually he trains and learns how to fight and becomes a YouTube/MySpace sensation named Kick-Ass  and finds other people being vigilantes, like the 11 year old assassin Hit Girl.  The movie stars British actor Aaron Johnson as Kick Ass, Christopher Mintz Plasse as Red Mist, Kick Ass’ crime fighting partner, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl and Nicolas Cage as her father.  Mark Strong will be one of the main villains.

At Comic Con the movie didn’t have a studio attached so it was feared that the movie might never come out but after a bidding war Lionsgate is going to be releasing the movie sometime next year.
