Admit One 9/11

Posted on September 11, 2009 by

It looks to be a thrilling weekend at the box office as you have killer machines fighting living sack dolls, a killer in Antarctica and a killer in a sorority.  Let’s see what the critics think.

Starring: Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Crispin Glover

Directed by: Shane Acker

Plot: When humanity is wiped out by killer machines, nine sack dolls are the only ones who can defeat them.

Rotten Tomatoes Freshness: 57%

Critic Consensus: “Although its story is perhaps too familiar and less complex than some might wish, 9 is visually spectacular, and director Shane Acker’s attention to detail succeeds in drawing viewers into the film’s universe.”

Starring: Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht, Tom Skerritt, Colombus Short

Directed by: Dominic Sena

Plot: US Marshall Carrie Stetko must investigate a murder in Antarctica.

RT Freshness: 2%

Richard Roeper: “Even in a whiteout, you can see the plot twists coming.”

Sorority Row

Starring: Briana Evigan, Rumer Wilis, Carrie Fisher, Jamie Chung

Directed by: Stewart Hendler

Plot: Sorority sisters accidentally murder one of their friends in a prank and a mysterious killer starts coming after them.

RT Freshness: 34%

Empire Magazine: “Even the gratuitous nudity can’t quite save a Heathers-goes-to-college horror that’s undermined by a silly plot and clunky dialogue.”
