Dreamworks Double Dose of Trailers

Most likely debuting in front of Rango this weekend are a pair of new Dreamworks trailers for Kung Fu Panda and Puss in Boots.  First up is Kung Fu Panda 2, which finds Po and the Furious Five having to set off on a quest to stop a new villain from kidnapping Kung Fu masters and using a weapon that could end Kung Fu all together.  I thought the first Kung Fu Panda was a great step towards Dreamworks moving away from pop culture riddled abominations like Shark Tale and Bee Movie which they moved even farther along with last year with How to Train Your Dragon.  There looks like there could be some amazing action sequences in Kung Fu Panda 2 so I’m kind of excited.  Check out the trailer below.

Second, we have a teaser trailer for this winter’s Puss in Boots, which is a prequel to the Shrek movies and finds Puss teaming up with a couple of thieves to steal the Goose who Laid the Golden Egg.  Antonio Banderas is back to voice Puss and Salma Hayek and Zach Galifinakis will co-star.  The Shrek movies got driven to the ground but hopefully without the shackles of the Shrek franchise on it, Puss in Boots can be a fun take on heist movies like it sounds like it wants to be.  The trailer doesn’t really show much other than Puss being a pimp and you can check it out below and the movie is out in November.
