  • Plot of The Twilight Zone movie revealed: The upcoming reboot/reimagining of The Twilight Zone from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way company now has a plot description.  Apparently the movie will follow a test pilot who pilots a craft that breaks the speed of light but finds when he lands that he is somehow 96 years into the future.  Unlike the previous Twilight Zone movie, this new version will only follow this one plot, basically being an extended episode.
  • Timecrimes director Nacho Vigalondo’s next project: The movie is called Open Windows and follows Elijah Wood as he uncovers a crime in process on the Internet as an actress, Sasha Grey, is kidnapped and Wood must attempt to discover who she is and where she is to save her.  Vigalondo says that it is a different take on the found footage genre, as it takes place in real time over 90 minutes and most of the action takes place looking at Wood’s computer screen.
  • Francis Lawrence directing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay:  The director of I Am Legend and Constantine will be bringing The Hunger Games movie series to it’s conclusion, directing both Catching Fire and the two part final movie, Mockingjay.
  • Jamie Foxx in talks to play Electro in Amazing Spider Man 2:  Mary Jane was recently cast and now at least one of the villains seems to be close to being cast as Jamie Foxx is supposedly in talks to play Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  There’s still no word whether Norman Osbourne will be a factor in the sequel after being heavily referenced in the first movie.
  • Guillermo Del Toro wants to direct DC monster hero team up “Heaven Sent”: Del Toro wants to create a DC movie that would team up such characters as Swamp Thing, Zatara, Zatanna, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre, The Phantom Stranger and Etrigan the Demon.  I wonder if there would be too many hurtles to do a Creature Commandos movie with such characters as Frankenstein’s Monster.
  • Universal might start a Locke & Key movie trilogy: The fantastic comic series created by Joe Hill has already attempted to come to the small screen as a series but Fox passed on the pilot.  Now Universal might be looking to create a trilogy of movies based on the series, with screenwriting duo Kurtzman and Orci writing it.  The comic follows the Locke siblings, who move into the the family’s creepy old house and discover a series of keys that have magical properties and battle an evil force that wants to control them.
  • Jaime King, Jamie Chung cast in Sin City 2: King will return as Wendy, sister of the murdered prostitute Goldie and Chung will take over the role of Miho from Devon Aoki.
  • Nick Fury/Maria Hill featured in Captain America 2:  Samuel L Jackson and Colbie Smulders will return as their respective SHIELD agents for 2014’s Cap sequel.
  • Community/Arrested Development both out early 2013: The fourth season of Community will now debut on February 7th 2013 and the debut of new Arrested Development on Netflix is scheduled to start in “early 2013” as well.
  • Bryan Singer directing X-Men: Days of Future Past:  The original X-Men director is returning to to direct the next installment in the franchise, after First Class director Matthew Vaughn left the project.  Singer produced First Class.
