Battle at the Box Office 11/12
Skyfall had already made over $400 million overseas before it’s debut in the US this past weekend and it easily added another $88 million to it’s total, the best Bond opening ever, crushing Quantum of Solace’s $67.5 million. It’s also the fourth best opening weekend of the year. Wreck It Ralph dropped down to the 2nd place with another $33 million, putting it just shy of $100 million in total. Flight moved down to third with $14.8 million with Argo dropping down to 4th with $6.6 million and Taken 2 held steady and rounded out the top 5 with $4 million. Almost criss crossing, The Man with the Iron Fists dropped to seventh place with $2.6 million while Pitch Perfect jumped up from eleventh back into the top ten to eighth with $2.5 million. In limited release, Lincoln had a pretty impressive $944,308 in only 11 theaters, for almost $86,000 per theater and it goes wide this coming weekend, but can it compete with the juggernaut that is Twilight?
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
