Although Dads was apparently one of the worst shows in TV history, the show that followed it, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was fantastic. The show follows the detectives of the 99th precinct in Brooklyn, led by the goofy but effective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg). Andre Braugher arrives as a no-nonsense new captain and the rest of the precinct is rounded out by Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti, Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero. The show comes from Parks & Rec creator Michael Schur and some of the Executive Producers are Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who also directed the pilot, so Brooklyn Nine-Nine is basically what you get if combined Parks & Rec and 21 Jump St. Part of the humor of the show is that, even though it’s a comedy, the cops are still investigating serious crimes, like a murder for instance in the pilot. You can check out the full first episode below and it’s on Tuesday at 8:30 on Fox.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
